A Reason To Read Again!!

It finally came!

My copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard finally arrived tuhday and I haven't been this excited to read since last year's Deathly Hallows, and I must say it's a nice feeling to have again.

But look at it!! It's M-A-ZING!!!

The Amazon-exclusive definitely fits my collector instincts since it's just so nice to behold! It comes with prints, a very fuzzy bag, the cover (obviously shown) is simply amazing with it's awesomely-replicated glory, and it has notes by Dumbledore himself, all in a textbook case! *nerdgasm*

I haven't read it yet, but I plan to once I've gotten over my fear of leaving smudges or dirt on the small storybook. I'm so glad Amazon was gracious enough to buy one of the original copies so that I could bask in it's replicated being.

Before my literary excitement overtook me, I finished Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories Tuesday and came back impressed and content that I now own the main trilogy of the series on the PS2. The Theater option was very much appreciated for story-purposes, which is a driving reason why I love the series along with the Disney nostalgia. I found a few hiccups in the game while playing on my 80 gig PS3, such as minor in-game cutscene bugs that feature characters getting stuck behind others, effecting their placement altering their animations in a scene, having their speech bubbles represent an invisible character, and some quick scanning and panning shots having characters suddenly drop through the floor only to drop from the sky in place again, but those I could live with.

What discouraged me was that I couldn't get past the initial tutorial battle. The game is describing how to pick up your friends and asks you to go pick up Donald when his card falls into the field, yet during the explination they automatically give you Donald, then when it gives you control of Sora you have no card to pick up, effectively stopping your progress through the game. Luckily, there were savvy players who created save files that pick up right after that tutorial battle which were easily transferrable from a download using a memory stick, so I have Normal and Proud data ready for new playthroughs for Sora's Story. So there's no worries and it was a fun game.

Oh, and Sora's Story on Proud?

Hard as hell.

I haven't been that frustrated at a game - particularly a Kingdom Hearts game - to the point of yelling since the original Kingdom Hearts on Expert, which was pretty darn hard. KH2 was a breeze, even on Proud. Okay, done with the game-rant. That's what dA is used for, haha.

Hope everyone's enjoying the Holiday Cheer!

Oh Yeah.

I keep forgetting I have one of these. Maybe cuz there's nothing of importance to actually post, I suppose? But what the hey...

It's December. Already. I still remember last Holiday season and it's very simple routines and events. I don't even remember what I asked for for Christmas aside from the fact that I received a second copy of Guitar Hero 3 for a second guitar, haha. I don't even remember if I asked for anything specific, either. I guess that's a good thing, right? I like giving things to people anyways. (Even if it's usually on X-Mas and/or their B-Day, but I try to make them good ones...)

X_X;;

This year I've only asked for one thing and one thing only. In fact, I prolly don't even deserve it. I haven't done anything extraordinary in a while, if not, like, EVER. I kinda feel really bad for asking for it, but I have since gotten confirmation that Santa shall be sending it my way, of which I shall be forEHver grateful. It ranks in the top five Holiday gifts I'll ever and will ever get, with my Nintendo consoles (I group them all up for practical purposes of being non-jerky for actual heart-felt gifts), Wheat-Thins I get yearly (hey, it's a snack I've made sacred upon myself by indulging them almost exclusively during this cheerful season), and my current vest. What is it? I dunno, I've promised to act surprised; I shouldn't know what I'm getting! :P

Story-elaborating-time. Miss Nylrac gave me this fuzzy thing with a white cloth stitched inside the left side with our friend's names on it. She got it after I lost my original black vest from 6th Grade after a football game of much celebration and extravagence as I sadly left it near the brick wall of our band room in my tired haste. I was told I looked depressed (as much as I can, since my face is blank with only a frown and devoid of emotion, apparently) and was told on numerous occasions the following month that I looked smaller/taller/skinnier/younger without my trademark garment. Eventually, she concocted one of the best gifts in recent memory and had the Clarinet Section in on it. How thoughtful! Well, on that morning, I recollect opening the box, yelling something unintelligent, running outside and announcing to the high school something along the lines of "I HAVE A NEW VEST!!!" or something similar. Anyways, I wear it to this night and now have a scented Optimus Prime, er, scenting(?) the inside pocket. I'll hafta give that back eventually... Oh, and give her a hug, since I don't think I've properly thanked her for such a thoughtful present.

Errr...

Animal Crossing takes up at least a good half hour daily, so it gives me something to do each day. Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories also arrived yesterday afternoon. Pretty fun stuff, dont' know why everyone hated it so. Okay, so I know full-well why everyone hates that game. It's more 'complicated' than it's button-mashing main titles. So what? It was an interesting system, to say the least. It actually made you think instead of just mashing X for a minute straight. And it's even more natural on the PS2's layout then it was on the cramped GBA. It's easier to see everything, battles have that wonderful 3D feel to them and it controls easier (thank you for the roll button, Reaction Command, short-cut button, Right Stick camera, and lock-on feature) than the humble little handheld could muster. Add to that prolly the most compelling story of the series thus far and it helps gives players playing the series' hardest title a drive to complete it. It's a very inspiring series and I will enjoy my tribute to it soon. (lies, 'soon' is very vague and non-commitment-ish)

I swear I'll actually have something more to say later this month when my drawing skills have come back to some of their mundane-luster. (I'm proud of one piece, but I has no idea where my sketch pad went within the last 8 hours. I know, I'm horrible...)

Enjoy Santa Claus Day!
